RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 3, 2021 (WAFA) - Palestine today recorded 2,017 new Covid-19 cases and 15 deaths, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
She announced that 2,017 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and 15 others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the new 2,017 cases, 1,821 cases were recorded in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and 196 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In the West Bank, Ramallah and al-Bireh district was ranked the first with (463) cases, followed by Hebron (345) cases, Nablus (270) cases, Bethlehem (208) cases, Jerusalem suburbs (121) cases, Tulkarm (106) cases, Salfit (87) cases, Qalqiliya (77) cases, Jenin (70) cases, Jericho & the Jordan Valley (39) cases besides to Tubas (35) cases.
Al-Kaileh identified the deaths as 13 from the West Bank and two others from Gaza.
The West Bank deaths were distributed as follows: two deaths in Hebron district, two others in Nablus, another in Bethlehem, another in Ramallah & al-Bireh, three others in Salfit, another in Jericho & the Jordan Valley, two others in Tulkarm and another in Jenin.
She added that 1,152 Covid-19 patients recovered; 1,003 recovery cases in the West Bank and 149 others in Gaza.
She pointed that 119 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 26 who are connected to ventilators.
Recoveries account for 89.7 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 9.2 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.
