JORDAN VALLEY, Thursday, February 4, 2021 (WAFA) – Premier Mohammad Shtayyeh Thursday afternoon led an inspection visit to the site of the demolished Khirbet Hamsa al-Fouqa community in the northern Jordan Valley.
Premier Shtayyeh made his way to inspect the destruction wrought on the community of Khirbet Hamsa al-Fouqa in the Baqi’a region a day after Israeli bulldozers, with the protection of Israeli occupation forces, demolished the community homes and sheds for the second time in 48 hours as a means to displace 40 Palestinian families and usurp their land.
He was joined Deputy Fatah Chairman Mahmoud al-Aloul, Chairman of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission Walid Assaf, Minister of Women’s Affairs Amal Hamad, Chairman of the Arab Higher Monitoring Committee in Israel Mohammad Barakeh, besides to church representatives and a host of European Union diplomats.
On Wednesday, Shtayyeh decried Israel's demolition of shelters and animal sheds as well as the seizure of tents that belong to the community as an “organized state terrorism which involves ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population”.
He called on the international community to immediately intervene, condemn this operation, and provide protection to the Palestinians in the villages, towns, and hamlets facing large scale demolition of their homes and confiscation of their lands.
