RAMALLAH, Wednesday, February 03, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today is clear to partly cloudy and mild in mountainous districts and relatively warm in other districts in daytime, with steady temperatures, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
A chance of sporadic rain, mainly in the south and center, with isolated thunderstorms is expected in nighttime. Light to moderate southeasterly to easterly wind blows in daytime, while easterly to northeasterly wind blows in nighttime with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 11°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 19°C and a low of 10°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 16°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 15°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A low pressure is set to affect the region on Thursday, causing temperature to plummet, and paving the way to partly cloudy to cloudy and relatively cold to cold conditions. Scattered torrential rain showers with occasional thunderstorms are expected, especially in the south and center.
Friday’s temperature is set to remain steady, with partly cloudy to cloudy and cold to relatively cold conditions. Scattered rain showers with occasional thunderstorms will continue, with the chance of rain gradually tapering off towards the night.
A slight rise is expected in temperature on Saturday, with partly cloudy and relatively cold to cold conditions. The chance remains for scattered light rain.
PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone areas, gusty wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility on Thursday and Friday.
