Decline in number of deaths from coronavirus in West Bank, Gaza to 7, new cases record 736, and 1270 recoveries

RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 14, 2021 (WAFA) – The number of people who died in the West Bank and Gaza after contracting coronavirus disease has decreased to seven in the last 24 hours, while the number of new cases stood at 736 while recoveries reached 1270, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila. No data was available from East Jerusalem.

She said in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine that five deaths were recorded in the West Bank and two in the Gaza Strip.

The West Bank recorded 368 new cases, mainly in Nablus district with 131 cases and Ramallah with 120 cases, and 581 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip had 368 new cases and 689 recoveries.

Alkaila said 91 corona patients are getting treatment in intensive care, among them 28 are on ventilators.

Over 90 percent have recovered since the outbreak in Palestine in March, 8.1 percent are still active and 1.1 percent have died.
