EU calls on Israel to swiftly and fully investigate shooting that paralyzed Palestinian in West Bank

JERUSALEM, Saturday, January 02, 2021 (WAFA) - The European Union Delegation to the Palestinians today called on Israel to swiftly and fully investigate the shooting of a Palestinian man in Masafer Yatta in the south of the West Bank that left him totally paralyzed.

"Yesterday Israeli forces shot 24-year-old Haroun Abu Aram in his community of Abu Rakeez, Massafer Yatta. The incident occurred while Haroun - whose family was rebuilding its house, demolished in contravention of international law by Israeli forces in November - was defending his property," said the EU Delegation in a tweet.

"The injuries he sustained left Haroun paralyzed from the neck down.

The EU opposes such excessive and disproportionate use of force and calls on the Israeli authorities to swiftly and fully investigate this serious incident in order to bring the perpetrators to justice."
