Coronavirus in Palestine: 25 deaths, 1064 new cases, and 1477 recoveries in 24 hours

RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 02, 2021 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 25 Palestinians have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, 1064 new cases were recorded, and 1477 have recovered. No data was available from East Jerusalem.

She said in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine that 14 of the deaths were in the West Bank and 11 in the Gaza Strip.

The West Bank had 360 new cases, a drop from the previous average, and 917 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip had 704 new cases and 560 recoveries.

Ramallah remains at top of new cases in the West Bank with 102 cases, followed by Jenin 55, Tulkarm 43, Nablus 42, Bethlehem 29, and Hebron 25.

Alkaila said 119 patients are getting treatment in intensive care, among them 27 are on ventilators.

The rate of recoveries is currently 86.4 percent of the total cases recorded since the outbreak in Palestine in March, 12.6 percent remain active, and 1 percent have died.
