RAMALLAH, Friday, December 25, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai announced today that 1812 more cases of COVID-19, 21 deaths and 1783 recoveries were registered across Palestine during the past 24 hours.
In her daily report on the COVID-19 pandemic, Alkaila said the latest figures bring up the total number of coronavirus-related deaths registered since the outbreak of the pandemic in Palestine in early March 2020 to 1364.
On the new cases, the Health Minister said 47 cases were registered in Salfit, 142 in Hebron, 14 in Jericho, 95 in Tulkarm, 28 in Tubas, 127 in Jenin, 26 in Qalqilia, 85 in Nablus, 55 in Bethlehem, 159 in Ramallah, 12 in the West Bank side of the Jerusalem Governorate, and 294 in occupied Jerusalem.
In the Gaza Strip, a total of 728 were registered during the last 24 hours.
Alkaila pointed out that a total of 6134 COVID-19 tests were carried out during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, she pointed out that a total of 82.7 percent of the total number of cases registered since the outbreak of the pandemic in Palestine have recovered. This means that active cases represent 16,4 percent, while deaths accounted for 0.9 percent of total infections.
Alkaila added that 118 COVID-19 patients are currently under intensive care, of whom 26 are on respirators.
