RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Anan Rashid, a Palestinian health official in charge of clinical beds, today said that between 15 and 20% of corona patients in Palestine will require hospitalization, of whom 3 to 6% will need intensive care.

He told the official Voice of Palestine radio that the higher the rate of confirmed infected cases, the higher the occupancy rate and the crowdedness in hospitals, noting that global indicators confirm a rise in infections with the beginning of the third coronavirus wave.

Accordingly, he explained, secluded sections have been prepared in most hospitals, furnished with beds and intensive care units to serve as add-ons to the specialized corona centers throughout the country.

He warned against the possibility of hospitals reaching capacity and becoming unable to admit more patients as well as a shortage in ventilator if people do not adhere to the Health Ministry instructions and measures.
