Weather: Cold front continues to affect Palestine; chance of rain

RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 17, 2020 (WAFA) – The cold front that hit Palestine yesterday is expected to continue today with cloudy skies and a chance of rain and thunderstorms in most areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department /PMD/.

Winds are southwesterly to northwesterly, occasionally active and strong, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 14 C and a low of 9 C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 13 C and a low of 8 C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 23 C and a low of 15 C, while it is expected to reach a high of 19 C and a low of 13 C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A rise in temperature is expected tomorrow, Friday, with a low chance of rain in some areas as weather conditions stabilize by the evening.

No change in temperature on Saturday. However, a rise in temperature is expected for Sunday, said the PMD, which warned people of the danger of formation of floods in low areas and valleys, high winds, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility due to the formation of low clouds.
