President Abbas sends letter to the Sultan of Oman

MUSCAT, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas today sent a letter to the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, which was delivered by the Secretary of Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rjoub.

Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation and Special Representative of the Sultan of Oman, Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, received the letter from Rjoub during a meeting where both discussed bilateral relations between their countries and ways to support and develop them in various fields.

Rjoub affirmed the appreciation of the Palestinian leadership and President Abbas for the positions of the Sultanate and Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and their stances by the Palestinian people and their leadership in their endeavor to achieve their rights and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, appreciating all forms of support provided by the Sultanate.

For his part, Al Said reaffirmed the Sultanate’s firm position in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people and in support of a political solution based on international legitimacy decisions, stressing the stability of the Omani position and its vision to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
