JENIN, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestinian health officials today warned that the Covid-19 infections curve in several governorates continues to bend upward.
Speaking to the Voice of Palestine, head of the Jenin Health Directorate Wisam Sbeihat said the number of confirmed cases in Jenin exceeded 7,000, including over 1700 active cases, while the death toll reached 87 since the pandemic outbreak in early March.
He added that that the Covid-19 section in Jenin Hospital is now completely overcrowded with patients, and the occupancy of intensive care units has reached 95 percent.
Meanwhile, head of Tubas Health Directorate Jamil Daraghmeh warned that the number of Covid-19 patients in the governorate continues to rise, and has reached 1,600 cases, including 600 active cases, since the pandemic outbreak.
Salfit Health Director Haitham Mansour also sounded the alarm that the Covid-19 infections curve in the governorate continues to show an upward trend.
He added that 2,400 confirmed cases were recorded since the pandemic outbreak, including 550 active cases, while the death toll reached 15.
