Israeli forces detain 10 Palestinians from West Bank

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday overnight detained at least 10 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to security sources.

They confirmed that Israeli forces barged their way into Dura al-Qari‘ town, northeast of Ramallah, where they rounded up a Palestinian after breaking into his house.

In Salfit district, soldiers conducted a raid in Qarawet Bani Hassan, west of the city, resulting in the detention of three others.

Meanwhile, the sources confirmed an Israeli military raid in Nablus city, where soldiers detained three others.

In Jenin district, Israeli soldiers barged their way into Yabad town, south of the city, where they re-arrested a former prisoner, who spent over 10 years in Israeli imprisonment.

In Hebron district, Israeli forces arrived at Beit Ummar town, north of the city, in the dead of night, when they detained two brothers, aged 15 and 16, and ransacked two houses, turning them upside down.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
