RAMALLAH, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 (WAFA) – A cold pressure with a cold front are set to affect the region on Tuesday, causing temperature to plummet and paving the way to cloudy and cold conditions, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Sporadic rain showers, which could be torrential, along with occasional thunderstorms are expected, beginning in the afternoon, with the rain intensifying towards the night. Strong southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime with occasional gusts, while moderate to strong southwesterly wind blows in nighttime. Sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 13°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 23°C and a low of 16°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 14°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
The cold depression is set to intensify on Wednesday, paving the way to cloudy and rainy conditions and causing temperature to further drop. Occasional rain showers, which could be torrential, along with occasional thunderstorms are still expected.
Thursday’s weather continues to be partially cloudy to cloudy and cold. Sporadic rain showers along with occasional thunderstorms are still expected on most districts.
Friday’s temperature is set to rise, paving the way to partially cloudy to clear and relatively cold conditions, particularly in mountainous districts.
PMD warns people against the risk of floods in flood-prone areas, gusty wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility during the low pressure.
