RAMALLAH, Friday, December 4, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 1,968 new Covid-19 cases and 17 fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
She announced that 1,968 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and 17 others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the 1,968 new cases, 211 cases were recorded in Hebron governorate, 185 in Jenin, 116 in Bethlehem, 204 in Nablus, 98 in Tulkarm, 158 in Ramallah & al-Bireh, 43 in Tubas, 72 in Salfit, 37 in Qalqilia, 11 in Jericho & the Jordan Valley, 45 in Jerusalem suburbs and 788 in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Al-Kaileh identified the 17 new fatalities as ten from the West Bank and seven from the Gaza Strip. The West Bank fatalities were distributed as follows: two from Bethlehem governorate, three from Jenin, two from Tulkarm, two from Nablus and one from Qalqilia.
Al-Kaileh added that 1,956 Covid-19 patients recovered as 71 others continue to receive urgent treatment at the intensive care units, including 20 who are connected to respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 108,280.
Out of the 108,280 cases, 70,865 are recorded in the West Bank, 23,811 in the Gaza Strip and 13,604 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 82,809, and the death toll reached 890, leaving a total of 24,581 active cases.
Recoveries account for 76.5 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 22.7 percent and the death toll accounts for 0.8 percent.
