RAMALLAH, Wednesday, December 2, 2020 (WAFA) – Sixteen people have died of coronavirus in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, 2188 new cases were recorded, and 1051 patients have recovered, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine. No data was available from East Jerusalem.
She said nine of the deaths were in the West Bank, which recorded 1453 new cases, most of them in the Nablus district, which had 321 cases, followed by Hebron with 224 cases, then Bethlehem with 200 cases, Ramallah 174, Jenin 151, Salfit 97, and Tulkarm 94, among others. A total of 696 have recovered in the West Bank.
The Gaza Strip recorded seven deaths, 735 new cases, and 355 recoveries.
Alkaila said 67 patients are getting treatment in intensive care, including 14 who are on respirators.
She said 76.6 percent of the total cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in Palestine in March have recovered, 22.5 percent are currently active and 0.9% have died.
