President Abbas receives Arab League chief, Egyptian foreign minister in Cairo

CAIRO, Sunday, November 29, 2020 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received at his residence in the Egyptian capital Cairo tonight the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and later Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

During the meeting with Aboul Gheit, President Abbas briefed the Arab League Secretary-General on the latest political developments in Palestine as well as future steps related to the Palestinian issue.

He also briefed Shoukry in a separate meeting on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, in addition to the political and diplomatic efforts exerted to mobilize international support for the Palestinian cause.

The meetings were attended by member of Fatah Central Committee, head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs, Hussein al-Sheikh, head of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Majid Faraj, and Palestine's ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Diab al-Louh.

President Abbas arrived today evening in Egypt on an official visit during which he will meet tomorrow with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
