RAMALLAH, Friday, November 27, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 1,936 Covid-19 cases and nine fatalities, the highest single-day rise since the pandemic outbreak in March.
Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced that 1,936 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and nine others died of it in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Among the 1,936 new Covid-19 cases, 137 cases were confirmed in Hebron governorate, 190 in Nablus, 106 in Bethlehem, 57 in Qalqilia, 122 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 135 in Jenin, 14 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 60 in Salfit, 86 in Tulkarm, 75 in Tubas, 32 in Jerusalem districts and 922 in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Al-Kaileh identified the nine new fatalities as one from Bethlehem governorate, three from Hebron, two from Jenin, another from Tulkarm and two others from the Gaza Strip.
She added that 719 Covid-19 patients recovered and 57 others are still receiving treatment in intensive care units, including eight who are connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 93,400.
Out of the 93,400 cases, 62,096 are recorded in the West Bank, 18,333 in the Gaza Strip and 12,971 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 74,189, and the death toll reached 776, leaving a total of 18,435 active cases.
Recoveries account for 79.4 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 19.7 percent and the death toll accounts for 0.9 percent.
