RAMALLAH, Tuesday, November 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Eight people have died of coronavirus in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to three in Jerusalem in the last 24 hours, 1158 new cases were recorded and 774 patients have recovered, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine.
She said Six people between the ages of 55 and 80 died of the disease in the West Bank, while two deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip. Three deaths were recorded in Jerusalem.
The new cases included 546 in the West Bank, including 155 in the Nablus district, 76 in Ramallah district, 93 in Hebron, 98 in Bethlehem, 12 in Qalqilia, 48 in Jenin, 7 in Jericho, 11 in Salfit, 34 in Tulkarem, and 12 in Tubas, in addition to 486 new cases in the Gaza Strip, 36 others in Jerusalem suburbs, and 90 in Jerusalem.
A total of 426 patients have recovered in the West Bank, 305 in the Gaza Strip, and 43 in Jerusalem, said the Minister, who put the recoveries at 87.1 percent of the total since the outbreak of the disease in Palestine in March, as 12.1 percent remain active and 0.8 percent have died.
Alkaila said 44 patients remain in intensive care units in hospitals, among them nine are on respirators.
