Palestine records 730 Covid-19 cases, six fatalities

RAMALLAH, Friday, November 13, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 730 new Covid-19 cases and six fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.

She announced that 730 Palestinians contracted the highly contagious virus and six others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the 730 new confirmed cases, 46 cases were recorded in Hebron governorate, 152 in Nablus, 57 in Bethlehem, 19 in Qalqilia, 43 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 35 in Jenin, ten in Jericho & the Jordan Valley, 46 in Salfit, 30 in Tulkarm, five in Tubas, 274 in the Gaza Strip and 13 in Jerusalem suburbs.

She identified the six fatalities as two men, aged 38 and 84, from Jenin governorate; three others, aged 65, 90 and 79, from Tulkarm governorate; besides to a 70-year-old man from the besieged Gaza Strip.

She added that 506 Covid-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories and 40 others are still receiving treatment at the intensive care units, including 10 who are connected to respirators.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 72,967

Out of the 72,967 cases, 51,242 are recorded in the West Bank, 9,542 in the Gaza Strip and 12,183 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries have totaled 64,431, including 11,570 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 617, leaving a total of 7,919 active cases.

Recoveries account for 88.1 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 11.1 percent and the death toll accounts for 0.8 percent.
