RAMALLAH, Saturday, November 7, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced today that 431 new infections and one death of coronavirus were registered across Palestine during the last 24 hours. In addition, 438 new recoveries were registered.
In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said a 70-year-old man from Jenin, north of the West Bank, died from complications resulting from the novel virus.
She said 62 of the new cases were registered in Nablus, 44 in Bethlehem, 20 in Jenin, 13 in Ramallah, 10 in Salfit, 9 in Tulkarm, 6 in Hebron, 5 in Tubas, 3 in Jericho, and 3 in the West Bank side of the Jerusalem Governorate. In the Gaza Strip, a total of 250 new cases were registered as well. No data were available concerning the situation of the pandemic in occupied East Jerusalem.
According to the Health Minister, the rate of recovery has so far reached 88.3 percent of the total cases since the start of the pandemic in March, whereas active cases reached 10.9 percent and deaths slightly declined to 0.8 percent.
She pointed out that 34 coronavirus patients remain in intensive care, of whom 7 are on respirators.
