Palestine records 504 new coronavirus cases, 8 deaths

RAMALLAH, Friday, October 30, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced today that 504 new cases of coronavirus and eight deaths were recorded in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said three Palestinians died of the virus in Ramallah, one in Salfit, one in Hebron, one in Jericho and one in Rafah. She said the latest figures bring up the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic in Palestine to 553.

On the geographic distribution of the new infections, Alkaila pointed out that 37 cases were recorded in Hebron, 82 in Nablus, 49 in Bethlehem, 7 in Qalqilia, 35 in Ramallah, 34 in Jenin, 11 in Jericho, 23 in Tulkarm, 3 in Tubas, 178 in the Gaza Strip, and 12 in the West Bank side of Jerusalem district.

On recoveries, Alkaila noted that 88.4 percent of the total coronavirus patients in Palestine have recovered so far, while active cases reached 10.7 percent, and deaths rose to 0.9 percent.

The Health Minister added that 39 coronavirus patients are currently under intensified care, of whom six are on respirators.
