RAMALLAH, Thursday, October 29, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 623 new novel coronavirus cases and eight fatalities.
The Health Ministry announced in the daily report that 623 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and eight others died of it in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Among the new confirmed cases, 52 cases were recorded in Hebron district, 79 in Nablus, 47 in Bethlehem, seven in Qalqilia, 54 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 38 in Jenin, 26 in Jericho & the Jordan Valley, 15 in Salfit, 18 in Tulkarem, two in Tubas, 276 in the besieged Gaza Strip and nine in Jerusalem suburbs.
The fatalities included seven cases from the West Bank and another from the besieged Gaza Strip. They were identified as an 84-year-old woman from the Jenin-district village of Silat al-Harithiya, a 67-year-old man from Tulkarem city, a 75-year-old man from Nablus city, a 50-year-old woman from the Nablus-district town of Beit Furik, a 77-year-old woman from the Nablus-district village of al-Far‘a, a 68-year-old woman from Ramallah city, an 87-year-old man from Hebron city besides to a 63-year-old man from Gaza.
Besides, 463 COVID-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories; 467 recovery cases in the West Bank and 145 cases in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry added that 39 patients were still receiving treatment at intensive care units, including six who are still connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 64,237.
Out of the 64,237 cases, 46,402 are recorded in the West Bank, 6,169 in the Gaza Strip and 11,666 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 56,786 and the death toll reached 545, leaving a total of 6,906 active cases.
Recoveries account for 88.4 percent, the death toll accounts for 0.85 percent and the active cases for 10.8 percent.
