RAMALLAH, Saturday, October 24, 2020 (WAFA) – Four people have died of the coronavirus disease in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, 410 new cases were recorded and 382 have recovered, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine. No data was available on East Jerusalem.
Alkaila said three of the deaths were in the West Bank for people aged 59, 71 and 86, and the fourth was in the Gaza Strip for a 70-year-old woman.
The new cases in the West Bank reached 254, most of them in the Nablus area where 71 cases were recorded, followed by 42 in the Bethlehem district and 32 in the Ramallah and al-Bireh area.
West Bank recoveries reached 305, including 115 in the Bethlehem area and 69 in the Hebron district.
The Gaza Strip had 156 new cases, while 77 have recovered.
Alkaila said 88.2 percent of the cases recorded since the outbreak of the disease in March have recovered, 11 percent are still active and 0.8 percent have died.
She said 36 patients remain in intensive care in hospitals, including eight who are on respirators.
