RAMALLAH, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 (WAFA) – Six people have died of coronavirus in Palestine in the last 24 hours, 569 new cases were recorded and 562 patients have recovered, today said Minster of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine.
She said that all the deaths were in the West Bank where 365 new cases were recorded and 387 have recovered.
East Jerusalem, which did not report any death, had 70 new cases and 82 recoveries.
The Gaza Strip, which also did not report any deaths, had 134 new cases and 93 recoveries.
According to Alkaila, 79 of the new cases in the West Bank were in the Nablus district while 50 were in the Bethlehem district and 40 in Ramallah and al-Bireh district. Hebron had 60 new cases.
Ramallah and al-Bireh had 98 recoveries, Jericho and the Jordan Valley had 77 and a similar number in Nablus district.
Overall recoveries have reached 88 percent of the total cases since March, while 11.2 percent are still active and 0.8 percent have died.
The Health Minister said 34 patients remain in intensive care, among them five are on respirators.
