RAMALLAH, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 (WAFA) – Eight people have died of coronavirus in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, 481 new cases were recorded and 513 recovered in the last 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila. No data was available for East Jerusalem.
She said seven of the deaths were in the West Bank, where a 31-year-old man was among them and the rest over 60 years of age, and one in the Gaza Strip.
Of the new cases, 404 were in the West Bank, mainly in the Nablus district with 89 cases, Ramallah 69, Bethlehem 56, Hebron 54, and Tulkarm 56, among others. The Gaza Strip had 77 new cases.
The recoveries included 414 in the West Bank and 99 in the Gaza Strip, said the Minister, explaining that 87.9 percent of the cases since the outbreak of the disease in March have recovered, 11.3 percent remain active and 0.8 percent have died.
A total of 35 patients are getting treatment in intensive care, among them six are on ventilators.
