RAMALLAH, Thursday, October 15, 2020 (WAFA) – In the West Bank, eight people have died after contracting the coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours, 361 new cases were recorded and 201 patients recovered, while in the Gaza Strip, 81 new cases were recorded and 80 recovered, said the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily coronavirus report.
No deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours and no data was available from East Jerusalem.
According to the Minister, one of the eight deaths in the West Bank was for a 36-year-old woman from the Hebron district and another was a 56 years old man from Ain al-Sultan refugee camp in Jericho. The remaining six were over 60 years of age from different areas.
She said that 75 of the new cases in the West Bank were from the Hebron district where 63 patients have recovered, 49 from the Nablus district, 58 from Bethlehem district, 47 from Tulkarm where 46 have recovered, 41 from Ramallah and al-Bireh where 30 have recovered, 21 from Qalqilya, 28 from Jenin where 32 have recovered, and 20 from Jericho and the Jordan Valley. The rest were in other West Bank districts.
Alkaila said 36 corona patients remain in intensive care while six of them are on respirators.
