RAMALLAH, Wednesday, October 14, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine confirmed today 532 new novel coronavirus cases and four fatalities, according to Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila.
She said in her daily report on the pandemic outbreak that 532 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and four others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the 532 new infections, 60 were recorded in Hebron governorate, 48 in Nablus, 32 in Bethlehem, 25 in Qalqilia, 33 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 55 in Jenin, eight in Jericho & the Jordan Valley, 15 in Salfit, 18 in Tubas, 43 in Tulkarem, 110 in Gaza, 11 in Jerusalem suburbs and 74 in the city of Jerusalem.
She identified the four fatalities as a 57-year-old man from Hebron, a 72-year-old woman from al-Ubeidiya town, east of Bethlehem, besides to two others from the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Sur Baher and Suwaneh.
The Health Minister added that 602 recoveries were recorded in the occupied territories, pointing that 40 patients remain getting treatment in intensive care units, including seven who are on respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 56,999.
Out of the 56,999 cases, 41,373 are recorded in the West Bank, 4,285 in the Gaza Strip and 11,341 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 49,934, accounting for 87.6 percent of the total cases, and the death toll reached 463, accounting for 0.8 percent, leaving a total of 6,602 active cases, accounting for 11.6 percent of total cases.
