RAMALLAH, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 510 new novel coronavirus infections and six fatalities.
The Health Ministry announced that 510 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and six others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the 510 new infections, 77 infections were confirmed in Hebron district, 34 in Nablus, 42 in Bethlehem, 10 in Qalqilia, 39 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 38 in Jenin, 22 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 127 in Gaza, 118 in Jerusalem and three in Tubas.
The Ministry said that 548 new recovery cases were registered in the occupied territories.
As part of the new recovery cases, 125 cases were confirmed in Hebron district, 29 in Nablus, 20 in Jenin, 29 in Tulkarem, 151 in Qalqilia and 194 in Jerusalem.
The Ministry added that 46 COVID-19 patients were still receiving treatment in intensive care units, including 10 patients who were still connected to respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 53,939.
Out of the 53,939 cases, 39,140 are recorded in the West Bank, 3,700 in the Gaza Strip and 11,099 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 45,920, accounting for 85.1 percent of the total cases, and the death toll reached 418, accounting for 0.8 percent, leaving a total of 7,601 active cases, accounting for 14.1 percent of total cases.
