RAMALLAH, Friday, October 2, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh confirmed today that 545 new cases of coronavirus, three deaths and 435 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the past 24 hours.
She said in the daily report on the COVID-19 pandemic that the recovery rate nationwide has reached 82.4 percent, while active cases reached 16.9 percent. Deaths stood at 0.7 percent of the total cases.
Al-Kaileh pointed out that three deaths were reported for a 60-year-old man from Bethlehem, a 78-year-old woman from the town of Yatta, and a 68-year-old man from the town of Beit Ummar. The three had been suffering chronic diseases prior to being infected with coronavirus.
On the new infections, al-Kaileh said 67 cases were recorded in Hebron, 15 in Nablus, 55 in Bethlehem, 13 in Qalqilia, 43 in Ramallah, 58 in Jenin, one in Tubas, 20 in Jericho, one in Salfit, 47 in Tulkarm, 15 on the West Bank side of the Jerusalem Governorate, 101 in occupied Jerusalem, and 109 in the Gaza Strip.
The Minister of Health said 53 coronavirus patients are currently placed under intensified care, 14 of whom are on respirators.
