RAMALLAH, Monday, September 28, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Monday recorded 503 new novel coronavirus cases and 10 fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
Al-Kaileh announced that 503 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus, 1,665 patients recovered, and 10 others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the 503 new cases, 68 cases were confirmed in Hebron district, 67 others in Nablus, 50 others in Bethlehem, 12 others in Qalqilia, 43 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 19 others in Jenin, eight others in Salfit, 29 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 66 others in Tulkarem, one in Tubas, 35 others in Gaza and 105 in Jerusalem and its suburbs.
As for the fatalities, she identified them as 55-year-old and 60-year-old Palestinian men from Nablus district, a 76-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man from Jenin district, a 50-year-old man from Bethlehem, a 56-year-old man from Qalqilya, an 81-year-old man from Ramallah district, and three others, including a 70-year-old man, from Jerusalem district.
Al-Kaileh added that 1665 COVID-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories, and noted that 44 COVID-19 patients were still receiving treatment at intensive care units, including 14 who are still connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 49,695.
Out of the 49,695 cases, 36,295 are recorded in the West Bank, 2,826 in the Gaza Strip and 10,574 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 39,386, accounting for 79.3 percent of the total cases, and the death toll reached 353, accounting for 0.7 percent, leaving a total of 9,956 active cases, accounting for 20 percent of total cases.
