Palestine records 452 coronavirus cases, five fatalities

RAMALLAH, Friday, September 25, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Friday recorded 452 new novel coronavirus cases and five fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.

Al-Kaileh announced that 452 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and five others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the 452 new cases, 91 cases were confirmed in Hebron district, 23 others in Nablus, 46 others in Bethlehem, seven others in Qalqilia, 43 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 19 others in Jenin, eight others in Salfit, 19 others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 56 others in Tulkarem, 45 others in Gaza and 95 others in Jerusalem and its suburbs.

As for the fatalities, she identified them as 76-year-old and 84-year-old Palestinians from the Hebron town of Dura, a 76-year-old Palestinian from the Nablus-district village of Aqraba, a 78-year-old Palestinian from Nablus city besides to another from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Wadi al-Joz.

Al-Kaileh added that 368 COVID-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories, and noted that 43 COVID-19 patients were still receiving treatment at intensive care units, including 12 who are still connected to ventilators.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the recovery cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) account for 74 percent, active cases account for 25.4 percent and the fatalities for 0.6 percent of the total cases.
