RAMALLAH, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 503 new novel coronavirus cases and three fatalities, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
Al-Kaileh announced that 503 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and three others died of it in the occupied territories.
She identified the latest three fatalities as an 83-year-old woman from Beitillu village, northwest of Ramallah, a 90-year-old man from Ramallah city besides to a 69-year-old woman from Hebron.
As for the new confirmed cases, they were distributed as follows: 150 cases in Hebron district, 64 in Nablus, 79 in Bethlehem, 24 in Qalqilya, 18 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 14 in Jenin, 10 in Salfit, 11 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 50 in Tulkarem, two in Tubas, 73 in the Gaza Strip besides to eight cases in Jerusalem district.
Al-Kaileh added that 819 COVID-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories.
Out of the recovery cases, 123 were recorded in Hebron district, 86 in Jenin, 22 others in Tulkarm, 35 in Qalqilya, 171 in Nablus, 118 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, seven in Salfit, 20 in Tubas, 90 in Gaza, and 147 in Jerusalem district.
Al-kaileh said that 44 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including eight who are still connected to respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 47,117.
Out of the 47,117 cases, 34,565 are recorded in the West Bank, 2,518 in the Gaza Strip and 10,034 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 34,421, accounting for 73.1 percent of the total cases, and the death toll reached 317, accounting for 0.6 percent, leaving a total of 12,379 active cases.
