RAMALLAH, Wednesday, September 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 963 new novel coronavirus cases and 15 fatalities, Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced.
She said in the daily press release 963 Palestinians were infected with the highly contagious virus and 15 others died of it.
The new corona cases were distributed as follows: 130 in Hebron district, 72 in Nablus, 74 in Bethlehem, 34 in Qalqilya, 98 in Ramallah, 32 in Jenin, 35 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, nine in Tubas, 40 in Salfit, 43 in Tulkarm, 94 in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 207 cases in Jerusalem district.
As for the latest 15 fatalities, al-Kaileh pointed out that 13 fatalities were recorded in the West Bank, one in the Jerusalem area, and one in the Gaza Strip.
She added that 522 Palestinian COVID-19 patients recovered from the pandemic in the last 24 hours.
Out of the recovery cases, 251 were recorded in Hebron district, 25 others in Tulkarm, 28 in Qalqilya, 16 in Tubas, 32 in Jenin, 53 in Gaza, and 147 in Jerusalem district.
She said that 30 COVID-19 patients are currently in the intensive care units, including 11 patients who are still on ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 42,379.
Out of the 42,379 cases, 30,906 are recorded in the West Bank, 2,100 in the Gaza Strip and 9,373 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 29,583, accounting for 69.8 percent of the total cases since the pandemic outbreak, and the death toll reached 276, accounting for 0.7 percent of the total cases.
This leaves a total of 12,520 active cases, accounting for 29.5 percent of the total cases.
