RAMALLAH, Friday, September 11, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh confirmed today eight deaths from coronavirus and 652 new infections in Palestine during the last 24 hours.
She said in a press release that seven out of the eight fatalities had been suffering chronic diseases, whereas the eighth, a 34-year-old woman from the town of Dura in the West Bank, had not suffered any diseases prior to her coronavirus infection.
Regarding the new infections, al-Kaileh pointed out that 157 cases were registered in Hebron, 26 in Nablus, 56 in Bethlehem, 16 in Qalqilia, 87 in Ramallah, 35 in Jenin, 17 in Jericho, 22 in Tubas, 32 in Tulkarm, 80 in the Gaza Strip, 64 in the West Bank side of Jerusalem district, and 60 in occupied Jerusalem.
The Minister of Health added that a total of 70.5 percent of the total coronavirus cases have recovered so far, while active cases reached 28.9 percent, and deaths reached 0.6 percent.
Meanwhile, she noted that 18 coronavirus patients recovered in Jenin, 57 in Qalqilia, 1 in Tubas, 24 in Nablus, 777 in Hebron, 84 in Bethlehem, 6 in Tulkarm, and 241 in occupied Jerusalem.
A total of 34 patients are currently in the ICU, of whom 10 are on respirators.
