RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 27, 2020 WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh ordered today the formation of a governmental committee to follow up the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the Gaza Strip.
He said the committee consists of the Minister of Health, the Minister of Social Development, and the ministers of the Gaza Strip, and will take care of everything related to the pandemic in Gaza and submit its recommendations to the Council of Ministers.
“We are following up the epidemiological situation in Gaza moment by moment, in the same manner as we are following up on it in Jerusalem, Hebron and Jenin,” said Shtayyeh.
He continued, "We will urgently send a ministerial delegation to Gaza to assess the situation on the ground, discuss the needs and obstacles on the ground, and submit recommendations to the government to take the necessary measures."
On the other hand, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Social Development to increase the number of families benefiting from financial and relief aid in the Strip to reduce the economic repercussions resulting from the pandemic.
