RAMALLAH, Friday, July 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded a new novel coronavirus fatality, raising the death toll in the occupied territories since the pandemic spread to 55.

The Health Ministry announced that a 77-year-old Palestinian man from al-Ram town, northeast of Jerusalem died due to the highly contagious virus.

According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 8,616.

Out of the 8,616 cases, 7,340 are recorded in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip and 1,204 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries have totaled 1,487, including 174 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 7,074 active cases.
