CAIRO, March 27, 2011 (WAFA) - Egyptian human rights institutions Sunday welcomed the International Council of Human Rights’ adoption of a decision which demands the General Assembly to submit the “goldstones” report, about the Israeli crimes committed in Gaza Strip, to the International Security Council to discuss it and take the suitable procedures .
These institutions considered in a statement released by Observers Without Borders , Human Rights Defenders Network, National Coalition For Justice and Democracy, and New World Foundation for Development and Human Rights, this decision, although issued late, as an important step on the path of respecting Palestinians’ human rights; primarily their rights of security, living in stability and dignity on their land.
The statement emphasized the need to follow up implementing this step by the international community in the General Assembly of the UN and the Security Council, and to prepare to transmit Goldstones’ report to the International Criminal Court.
It demanded stopping the double standards policy used by the great powers, led by USA, Britain, France and Germany, the politicalization of issues, regarding Israeli criminal policy against Palestinians, and the alignment with Israel against the Palestinians and Arabs’ rights.
The organizations in their statement also demanded the International Community to meet all its responsibilities toward holding Israel accountable of all its violations of the International Law and the International Human Law.
