3 Internationals Escort Teachers to their School Arrested by Israeli Army in Hebron
HEBRON, September 12, 2005 (WAFA)- International Solidarity Movement (ISM) said three internationals have been arrested by Israeli police as they tried to escort teachers to their school in Tel Rumeida in Hebron.... ISM reported that three days ago, police arbitrarily announced that the area was a "closed military zone" for internationals, even though they live in the area.... "Women teachers were insisting that they did not have to go through the metal detector to get to their schools. If internationals are not resent, soldiers and police do little to protect Palestinians from the settlers," it added.... Internationals feel a responsibility to bear witness, to document, and to report on the treatment of an occupied people, because Israel refuses to allow UN peacekeepers in to monitor their behaviour as an occupying force....
