RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 2, 2020 (WAFA) – Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said in a tweet today that Israel is going to stop demolishing Palestinian homes in the occupied territories.

“I was informed by top U.N. officials that the Israeli occupation authorities informed them that they will stop demolitions of Palestinian homes,” said Erekat without giving any further details.

The step is believed related to the universal fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

US members of Congress last month called on the American administration to oppose Israeli demolition of Palestinian homes that lead to the displacement of dozens of Palestinian families, mainly children.
