Child among four injured by Israeli forces in Kafr Qaddum

QALQILIA, Friday, June 14, 2019 (WAFA) – At least four Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli occupation forces as they attacked the weekly anti-settlements protest in the village of Kafr Qaddum, near Qalqilia city in the northern West Bank, local sources said.

Morad Shtewi, coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers attacked the protesters by rubber-coated rounds, injuring  four protesters and causing many cases of suffocation from gas inhalation.

Two injured were treated at the scene by the Palestinian Red Crescent staff.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers assaulted journalists who were covering the weekly protest in the village and reportedly used some of them as human shields while they attacked the protesters.

Almost every Friday, villagers from Kafr Qaddum and neighboring villages organize a nonviolent protest on Fridays against illegal Israeli settlements, and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road, which has been sealed by the occupation authorities since 2002.
