UPDATE: Israeli forces attack weekly Friday protests at Gaza-Israel borders, injuries reported

 

GAZA, Friday, June 28, 2019 (WAFA) – At least one Palestinian was shot and injured and others suffocated as Israeli forces attacked the weekly Friday protests that took place in various locations along Gaza borders to the east of the Strip as part of the ‘Great March of Return’ protests, said sources.

Israeli forces stationed along Gaza borders opened their machine gunfire and fired tear gas canisters toward Palestinians protesting peacefully in various locations to the east of the Strip.

A youth was reportedly shot and injured in the foot with a live bullet. Others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.

The Great March of Return protests began on March 30 and are planned to continue until a 12-year long Israeli blockade on Gaza is lifted.

(updated at 6:40 P.M. with the injury of 24 others. At least 24 people, including a cameraman and two volunteer medics, were shot and injured with rubber-coated steel  bullets).
