Israeli airstrikes kill two more Palestinians, death toll hits 11

GAZA, Sunday, May 05, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli fighter jets carried out more airstrikes today in a continued aggression for the third day on the Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of two more Palestinians in the Gaza City neighborhood of Shujaeya, medical sources said.

An airstrike targeted a group of Palestinian civilians in Shujaeya, killing Bilal Mohammad Banna and Abdullah Abul-Ata.

This brings up the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the Israeli air and artillery strikes on Gaza late Friday to at least 11, including a pregnant mother, Saba; her 14-month-old daughter, and her five-month-old unborn baby.

The Israeli escalation on Gaza started on Friday evening when Israeli troops killed two Palestinian protesters taking part in the weekly protests across the border. A sniper from Islamic Jihad reportedly fired back at the Israeli troops, injuring two of them. A few minutes later, a retaliatory Israeli air strike killed two Palestinians.
