RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh stressed the importance of having Americans who speak out in favor of the two-state solution based on international resolutions and signed agreements, in light of the American administration’s dominated bias toward  Israel.

The PM reiterated during a meeting with a delegation of United States Senators in Ramallah headed by Senators Mitt Romney and Chris Murphy the call for the US Congress to follow the European Union (EU) and others’ example in recognizing the state of Palestine and lifting the ban on the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Shtayyeh said, “the Palestinian position to refuse accepting the tax revenues from Israel after Israel’s illegal deduction from it stems from national, political and legal goals. Accepting the money means acknowledging the Israeli claims that we finance terrorism by paying salaries to the families of prisoners.”

The PM answered the delegation’s inquiry about the Palestinian declaration of their position toward the US so-called ‘Deal of the Century’ before reviewing it, that the American measures that preceded the declaration were worse than any text.

The Palestinians will not take part in a political process that does not meet their minimal rights and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in addition to a just solution to the refugees issue, said the PM.
