Israeli forces detain 20 Palestinians from West Bank, Jerusalem

 

BETHLEHEM, June 21, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained a total of 20 Palestinians, including a minor, as they conducted multiple overnight raids across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli forces detained five Palestinians, including a 14-year-old child and his brother, after breaking into and ransacking their families’ homes at al-Karkafeh neighborhood in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.

They also detained another Palestinian during a predawn raid into Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, forces conducted a raid into Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, detaining two Palestinians, including a former prisoner.

PPS added that four others, including two brothers, were detained during similar raids across the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

Israeli troops carried out a raid into al-Lubban al-Sharqiyyah village, south of Nablus, where they detained two Palestinians.

PPS said that three others were detained during other raids across the northern West Bank district of Nablus.

In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained analyst and political commentator Rasem Obeidat, 60, following a raid at his home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukabber.

They also detained Abdullah Kiswani, head of Mount of Olives Club and former member of the Palestinian Football Association, after raiding his home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of the Mount of Olives.

According to PPS statement, another Palestinian was detained from Jerusalem.
