JERICHO, April 19, 2018 (WAFA) – Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) Executive Committee Saeb Erekat Thursday said the US administration’s resolve to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem reflects its determination to destroy the peace process and the two-state solution.

These remarks came during a meeting with head of the UN Middle East politics department Susanne Rose and Japan‘s Ambassador to Palestine Takeshi Okubo .

Erekat affirmed that the Trump administration’s determination to violate international law in this flagrant manner has become a threat to the security, peace, and stability of the Middle East and the world.

He added that the Israeli government chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has planned since 2009 to strategically destroy the two-state solution and replace it with an apartheid system.

Erekat criticized world ambassadors who responded to Israel’s invitation to visit illegal settlements and occupied East Jerusalem and described it as a “smirch”.
