HEBRON, April 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians Sunday suffered from suffocation after inhaling tear gas fired at them by Israeli forces during an Israeli military raid into Asida area, near the main entrance of Beit Ummar town, in the West Bank district of Hebron, said a local activist.
Mohammed Awad, Coordinator of the anti settlement and wall committee in northern Hebron, told WAFA Israeli forces stormed Asida area after failing to detain a resident amid the heavy firing of live ammunition and tear gas canisters toward Palestinians in the area, causing dozens to suffocate.
Forces also sealed off the main entrance leading to the town of Beit Ummar and forced owners to close their shops at gunpoint.
The activist said forces prevented him from covering the attack and took him to the military watchtower stationed at the entrance of the town, where they searched him and accused him of possessing a knife to discourage him from documenting their attacks.
