India Supports Building of Two Schools in Palestine

RAMALLAH, May 21, 2014 (WAFA) – India transferred on Wednesday the second installment of $700,000 to the Ministry of Education, State of Palestine, as a part of the signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support the building of two schools, Wednesday said According to a press release by representative office of India to Palestine.

The schools are Jawaharlal Nehru Secondary School for Girls in Asera Al Shamalyeh, north of Nablus, and Jawaharlal Nehru Secondary School for Boys in Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem.

The MoU was signed during the visit of President Mahmoud Abbas to India in 2012. The value of the project is 1.8 million US$.

The construction of the two schools is in progress, said the release.

 The Representative of India, B.S. Mubarak presented the check of 700,000 US$ to Fawaz Mujahed, Director General, Ministry of Education on May 20, 2014.
