RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine Wednesday afternoon confirmed 356 new novel coronavirus cases and 16 recovery cases in the last 24 hours.
The Health Ministry announced in a press statement that 356 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and 16 others recovered from it in the last 24 hours.
Among the 356 new cases, the ministry added, 186 cases were recorded in Jerusalem city, 154 others in Hebron district, another in Tulkarem district, eight others in Bethlehem district, six others in Nablus district and another in the besieged Gaza Strip.
It added that 16 COVID-19 patients remain in the intensive care units, including four connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 11,279 since the pandemic outbreak.
Out of the 11,279 cases, 9,323 are in the West Bank, 75 in the Gaza Strip and 1,881 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 2,124, including 1,948 in the West Bank and Gaza and 174 in East Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 67, leaving a total of 9,088 active cases.
