RAMALLAH, February 13, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF) Sunday welcomed the PLO executive committee’s decision to hold national elections before September.
The front considered the decision a 'righteous and constitutional entitlement of Palestinians.'
It added that holding national elections in the Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem, is a commitment to basic Palestinian law.
Fatah, Palestinian People's Party (PPP), Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) expressed in separate statements their full cooperation with and support for holding these elections.
The Palestinian factions called on Hamas, the only party in opposition of the elections, to cooperate and provide the right conditions to hold the elections in Gaza.
