JERUSALEM, May 15, 2018 (WAFA) – A Gaza journalist who was critically wounded by Israeli army gunfire on Monday while covering the protests at the eastern border of Gaza underwent on Tuesday a surgery at Makased Hospital in East Jerusalem, according to medical sources.
Yasser Qdeih was rushed from Gaza to Makased Hospital in Jerusalem on Monday night in an effort to save his life following intervention with the Israeli military to allow him passage from the besieged Gaza Strip to Jerusalem.
Two Gaza journalists were killed in the last two months by Israeli army gunfire while covering the border protests and dozens were injured, prompting the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate to call for an international probe into what it said was Israel’s intentional targeting of Palestinian journalists despite the clear PRESS letters printed on their bullet-proof vests.
